FAQs

1) Is there anyway to have a cheat sheet on the COS and GEM world?
I'm working on it! Please click here:
  • STORY ARC/CHARACTERS
  • for a fun tour!

    2) What are the titles in the Virtually series?
Currently, there are three books planned.

    I) VIRTUALLY HIS

    II) VIRTUALLY HERS

    III) Tentatively titled, VIRTUALLY ONE

    3) A little bit about the VIRTUAL series, also titled SUPER SOLDIER SPY series
Click on this ROMANTIC TIMES INTERVIEW.

It tells a little bit about the series and where it's going. It's a series, with two recurring characters in a relationship that grows in each succeeding book. However, I, Powerful Author GLow, reserve the right to have the other commandos as the main character now and then. Heh. Wouldn't it be fun, spending a whole book through the eyes of, say, Armando Chang and his illusions? Thought so.

They are always talking about Super Soldiers in the media. I'm giving you The Super SoldierSpy, Helen Roston. She beat out the best from nine agencies to get the job. Now she's going to meet the COS Commandos. Dangerous and sexy men. You can even say they're ruthless when it comes to getting the job done. And one of them is going to be her personal trainer....

    4) Names of the COS Commandos and their "Numbers"

What? Don't you read the COMCEN blog (see up there on the menu bar? Clickety click...)? Grrrrr. Bad, bad readers. All those spoilers there too.

Here's the quick rundown for the lazy ones:

    Number One: ALEX DIAMOND

    Number Two: KIA

    Number Three: KIA

Number Four: KIA replaced by Shahrukh Kingsley

    Number Five: Michael "Flyboy" Hunter

Number Six: KIA replaced by Armando Chang

    Number Seven: Jack "Grant" Sullivan

    Number Eight: Heath Cliffe

Number Nine: Jed McNeal aka Stefan aka Ice

Clear now? Okay, where does Hell fit in? I'm not sure whether she wants to be Number Two or Number Three. I think she wants to be closer to Number Nine, to be honest.

Really luscious pictures and helpful backstory if you click on this link:

  • HELEN ROSTON, the super soldierspy, is trained in virtual reality because of her special ability to remote view.

    5) What is Virtual Reality?

    From WIKIPEDIA:
Virtual reality (VR) is a technology which allows a user to interact with a computer-simulated environment, be it a real or imagined one. Most current virtual reality environments are primarily visual experiences, displayed either on a computer screen or through special stereoscopic displays, but some simulations include additional sensory information, such as sound through speakers or headphones. Some advanced, haptic systems now include tactile information, generally known as force feedback, in medical and gaming applications.

Users can interact with a virtual environment or a virtual artifact (VA) either through the use of standard input devices such as a keyboard and mouse, or through multimodal devices such as a wired glove, the Polhemus boom arm, and omnidirectional treadmill. The simulated environment can be similar to the real world, for example, simulations for pilot or combat training, or it can differ significantly from reality, as in VR games.

In practice, it is currently very difficult to create a high-fidelity virtual reality experience, due largely to technical limitations on processing power, image resolution and communication bandwidth. However, those limitations are expected to eventually be overcome as processor, imaging and data communication technologies become more powerful and cost-effective over time.

Today's virtual reality experiment, The CAVE, exists! Hell's CAVE ULTIMATE is, of course, much more cutting edge.

    6) What is Remote Viewing?

From The International Remote Viewing Association:

Remote viewing is a novel perceptual discipline for gaining information not available to the ordinary physical senses. Used extensively by so-called "psychic spies" during the Cold War for classified military projects, it has a long history both as an intelligence gathering tool and as the subject of research and applications in the civilian world.

    From Wikipedia:

The Stargate Project was one of a number of code names for government "remote viewing programs". Others included Sun Streak, Grill Flame, Center Lane by DIA and INSCOM, and SCANATE by CIA, from the 1970s, through to 1995. It was an offshoot of research done at Stanford Research Institute (SRI).[4]

The Stargate Project created a set of protocols designed to make clairvoyance a more scientific process, and minimize as much as possible session noise and inaccuracy.[citation needed]

The project was eventually terminated, according to the official report at the time, because there was insufficient evidence of the utility of the intelligence data produced. David Goslin, of the American Institute for Research said, "There's no documented evidence it had any value to the intelligence community."[5]
In 1995 the project was transferred to the CIA and a retrospective evaluation of the results was done. The CIA contracted the American Institutes for Research for this evaluation. An analysis conducted by statistician Jessica Utts showed a statistically significant effect, with some subjects scoring 5%-15% above chance, though subject reports included a large amount of irrelevant information, and when reports did seem on target they were vague and general in nature.[6] Skeptic Ray Hyman concluded a null result[6] and based upon both of their collected findings, the CIA followed the recommendation to terminate the 20 million dollar project.[5] Time magazine stated in 1995 three full-time psychics were still working on a $500,000-a-year budget out of Fort Meade, Maryland, which would soon be shut down,[5] which occured in 1996.

    And so, Hell's adventure begins...
